Conventional first dates are usually rather boring and unimaginative. You go to a familiar bar, drink wine and order the meal that you can’t go wrong with. But dating should be much more fun than that. You should be able to make the other person feel and experience new, exciting things and real emotions, for only then does dating become what it should be – thrilling and inspiring.

Here we have some interesting first date ideas for all you adventurous spirits out there who seek new things with every new person they meet:

Visit An Outdoor Market

Regardless of what they say, EVERYBODY loves shopping, especially when it comes to those trivial little things and items we don’t really need. Take your date to a flea or farmer’s market, browse for hours and buy each other something special. Plus, it is a fun and interesting way to really get to know each other.

Take A Cooking Class

Tasty food is always a good idea, especially when you can make it yourself. Cooking is fun, and since it might be a bit awkward to go to his/her place on your very first date, you can take a local cooking class and learn some new culinary tricks.

Head To A Theme Park

Although it may sound a bit juvenile at first, theme parks can actually be a blast. Try all the rides and test your date’s fear limits on big roller coaster drops. Who knows, maybe some hand-holding will occur as well…

Check Out Amateur Poetry Readings

This one may feel like a rather strange and “out there” first date suggestion, but it works! The great thing about amateur poetry is that it is almost always either pretty good or extremely bad. If it turns out that aspiring poets are indeed talented, your evening will be quite romantic. If, however, it turns out to be a catastrophe, you two will always have that night to laugh about. Truly a win-win scenario.

Outdoor Movie

Warmer months are about to commence so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to plan an outdoor type of the first date. Outdoor cinema and theaters are always a good idea, plus – they are usually free too!

Go Bowling

We think it is high time bowling made a comeback. Funny-looking shoes, beer, bar snacks, great music, and lots of fun trying to get those strikes. Just make sure you don’t get too competitive, though.

Infiltrate A Travel Group

Even though the two of you probably already know a lot about your own city, you can use dating as an opportunity to explore all the unchartered waters and cool locations your town has to offer but you haven’t been able to check them out yet. Infiltrate a random travel group and see what happens. It can be a lot of fun!

Go To The Planetarium

Stargazing never goes out of style. It is romantic, it is exciting, it is informative, AND it can open up your minds to unconceivable widths. Remember, there are only two things that are truly endless – love and the universe!

Go On A Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is certainly among the most adventurous first date ideas ever. Although these types of dates can feel a little bit outdated and corny, they are much more fun than you think, trust us! Get creative and come up with a list of thrilling activities you and your date will enjoy. This is a perfect opportunity to show off your creativity. Of course, you can always go and grab a drink or two afterwards.

Fun & Adventurous Training-Day

Yes, we know that exercising is something that is supposed to be done BEFORE you go out on a date, but why not think outside the box? If your date is also fond of a good workout session, go on a day date and exercise together. Long and adventurous bike rides are a slam dunk, while outdoor (or indoor) rock climbing is also a blast.

Go Book Shopping

Books have always been among the most potent conversation starters, so take your date on a book shopping spree to your favorite bookstore(s), buy each other books, and let the conversation take you where you’ve never been before.

Go Ice-Skating

Because, what a better way to break the ice, right?

“Are you or have you ever been a member of the communist party?” okay just kidding but that could have been a good one in the 1950’s, but it brings up something almost as bizarre but needed in today’s society. In some fashion you should bring up something about their personal credit. YES! It sounds cold and nasty but if you can find out in a subtle way if you are entering a potential relationship that will entail constant calls from collection agencies and utilities being turned off periodically you need to decide about how dependable that person is.

Their failure to pay bills on time might not only cause you occasional inconveniences but you may be sucked into dealing with issues not of your making and quite often this can lead to credit issues of your own. Buying a car or buying a house might become an adventure as credit worthiness will not only determine if you can actually make that purchase but the amount of interest you will be paying as well.

If the person you are with is fine with constantly ducking the calls from collection agents it should tell you something about their character as well.  Running and hiding from a problem is never a substitute for fixing a problem and dating that person just makes you someone to share the problem with or fix it for them. Knowing this before you get too involved can save you a lot of aggravation and sorrow.

I can’t tell you how many times I have seen someone pay off another’s debts just to make the problem go away. You may think that’s the end of it, but sadly, it is not. In addition to being the contact that collection agents call for any future and even past debts from now on, you may begin to feel like the person you are dating owes you something money or otherwise. They however may not see it that way and it’s dating as usual until the next problem comes along. Bitterness can grow and the relationship can take a turn for the worse, but don’t worry, you can still talk about it with the collectors that will still call you when they can’t find the other person.

In a sugardaddie relationship you already know that you will incur some costs but they are rarely tied directly to you and when that relationship ends, that is usually the end of any financial attachments as well. The bottom line is, if you are going on a date you may already know if they live alone or their level of education and employment, but credit worthiness is something you may find out about after it’s too late!
