Why are females attracted to successful men?

While it is said there is 'someone for everyone' in this world, with us all having our own distinct personal preferences in friends and romantic interests, one thing is for certain females are attracted to successful men. While not all women may have the chutzpah to actively pursue a successful man, the attraction is there; but why are females attracted to successful men? Doesn't our sensitively in-tune morals tell us that it's what's on the 'inside' that attracts two people? And the answer is, yes, but that immediate initial attraction may be sparked by a well-dressed man donning a GQ haircut and sporting a Rolex. That same man's character, personality and intellect may keep the fire burning once a relationship is developed, but there is no denying that females are attracted to successful men that give the outward appearance of power and influence. This same premise is demonstrated in nature; the bird with the most striking plumage is predominately the male in the species, which attracts the attentions of the females. Seems humans aren't the only ones attracted to beauty and success.

Perhaps this phenomenon is a subliminally primal need; an offshoot of a woman's desire to be with a hunter/gatherer type that will provide for her and their offspring. One can only imagine that back during the Dawn of Man, it was the caveman that was the best shot with his spearhead or the one that succeeded at turning a mere spark into a roaring fire, that had women lined up outside his den proving that females are attracted to successful men. Since we now reserve activities such as these for reality shows, women pick up more on physical clues, appearance, and demeanor, to determine whether or not a man is successful. Maybe this is why men that do not wear their success on their sleeves, so to speak, feel the need to take women camping or fishing, demonstrating their abilities to successfully survive and provide.

Naturally, there are women out there that just crave the attentions of a man that is intellectually sound and has proven his brain power to the world by making his mark. These women are highly educated, well traveled, well spoken themselves and want someone of like kind. Not so unusual. If there truly is 'someone for everyone' then it's just a matter of time before we are all matched up. Why are females attracted to successful men? Well, maybe Darwin was correct and it truly is survival of the fittest.
